Hillary Clinton Vindicated as Comey Admits FBI Witchhunt Found Nothing in "New" Emails

On Friday, October 28, FBI Director James Comey and politically (and quite likely, illegally) inserting himself in the middle of a political campaign to announce that his agency found emails in an unrelated investigation that may or may not be related to their already concluded probe into Clinton's email server that his agency may or may not have already read.

The news gave Trump and his supporters who had always taken some form of criminality on the part of Hillary Clinton - despite multiple investigations, Congressional, internal and law enforcement having found no such thing - great jubilation. The "news" media breathed great relief as they got to push Donald Trump's brash bragging about sexually assaulting women off the headlines and concentrate on innuendos instead.

But now, Comey has sent another letter to Congress, affirming Sec. Clinton's first response to the 11th hour meddling by the FBI Director: there's nothing there.

Here is the full transcript of the letter:

I write to supplement my October 28, 2016 letter that notified you the FBI would be taking additional investigative steps with respect to former Secretary of State Clinton's use of a personal email server. Since my letter, the FBI investigative team has been working around the clock to process and review a large volume of emails from a device obtained in connection with an unrelated criminal investigation. During that process, we reviewed all of the communications that were to or from Hillary Clinton while she was Secretary of State.

Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July with respect to Secretary Clinton.

I am very grateful to the professionals at the FBI for doing an extraordinary amount of high-quality work in a short period of time.

Donald Trump and Republicans, of course, quickly returned to their loser posture: whining about a "rigged" system.

This should raise new questions - about the FBI and James Comey. Comey states in his latest note to Congress that his department was able to complete the full review of the emails in about a week. That he still went ahead with interfering in the political process on behalf of his party's nominee is not something that should be looked at lightly just because Hillary Clinton has now been vindicated.

All is not well with the FBI. All is not well with Comey. There still needs to be a day of reckoning.

But for now, onward to victory!
